Just wondering what people do when they aren’t listening to music and/or worrying about their system
This is one for the lounge not hifi corner
Judging by the lounge thread, drive sports cars, travel, take photos, drink wine, tell jokes, etc etc…
Have a life
I’m an avid cyclist and ride 100+ miles/week. I’ve been doing that regularly since 2013 and recently surpassed 70k miles ridden since I started.
I’m only absorbed in the music. In fact when people visit I make them listen to A Love Supreme and point out out the 13/8 time signature. Funny thing though, no one seems to call these days.
In no particular order, and varying with time, weather and other things outside my control:
Most active in recent past and near future:
- Travelling/holidaying with motorhome.
- Other travelling/holidaying worldwide
- Cycling, esp, especially offroad with MTB
- Seeing live theatre inclufing opera
- DIY things from designing and fitting kitchens, bathrooms, central heating systems, ventilation systems snd all manner or other home requirements for self and family including wider family.
Somewhat dormant at present, awaiting time to indulge (the trouble with being retired is there’s so much to do!):
- Making music
- Learning to play my musical instruments properly
- Stargazing
- Photography
- Skiing
- Snorkelling
- Diving
- Reading
- Walking
The lusts are not exhaustive, just what immediately comes to mind.
I find that all my lusts are exhaustive these days
For me it’s playing with the car, ,(mg midget), or riding the motorcycle (triumph Trident 660), but mostly time spent playing badminton (9 hours a week) to try and keep active and help the joints.
I’m not thinking about hi-fi. I have it already.
Posting on other relevant hobby forums. ![]()
Quite fascinating. Perhaps you could tell us what other lusts you have?!
Outside the hifi, I have very basic interests, very common, as collecting diamonds, rare paintings, second war planes, and occasionally trying to complete my Bugattis range.
My other interest will be riding my Can Am Ryker trike when it’s delivered in the next couple of days
It’s the second Ryker I’ve owned.. looks a bit like the picture.. my one has lovely red panels though
After dropping my two wheel bikes once to often I went the three wheel route and haven’t looked back
I purchased my first Ryker a couple of years ago but unfortunately had to sell it… don’t go there
My brand new Ryker will be coming very soon and I can’t wait for her to be home
Your forgot to mention the daily walk with your elephant at Versailles park ![]()
Good one Dico
. You are in good shape.
Exhaustive or exhausting?
Now that would be telling!
