Good and bad.. the good is the Valhallas are one very serious cables .. very easy to accommodate into any systems , which I heard from some other makes too , yes , expensive but worth the $$ in every way..

the bad - the ladder climbing starts here.. for the reference sound that these cables can give , which also means boxes tier will go up .

I felt I have max out the fullest of what my current 300 can gives.. somehow ..

In order to give the cables more of what it can unleash, another higher tier of boxes for pre and power is inevitable.. hence I am looking at D agostino . But they are very expensive..

Well , let’s see …

Nordost cables are very system dependent, once you get them right , they will sing without fatigue , very enjoyable sound they gives . Careful matching is the KEY .

Well you can always stop, you know? I’ve never heard a D’Agostino, so I can’t really comment about it. I just know they are pretty expensive.

I couldn’t agree more. It matching is good, they’ll unleash the performance of the system. They made their magic in my system!

I demoed the switch at home (with a couple of Heimdall 2 Ethernet cables) a year back. With and without a linear PSU, I couldn’t really hear any difference to the Ubiquiti Unifi PoE-powered switch that I already had in place.

And the circular form factor wasn’t that convenient.

Ah I see…. Thanks for the input and advice

Something like this ?

Similar - this is a newer generation of the switch I have. I’ve got several Unifi US 8. It’s powered via PoE from a US 8 60W (from the comms closet/spare bedroom wardrobe). This means that I don’t have a switched-mode power supply on the lounge switch, which (I assume) helps keen noise down.

I’m using a PhoenixNet as a switch in front of my hifi system. The benefits were marginal over the Unifi one, but if I’m honest I just wanted to spend some money on myself

Hi…did you compare those Nordost to Chord music speaker’s cables? that`s very interesting

Hi @Meni, unluckily I never had that chance, I only tested Nordost, QED and Wireworld cables in different systems. So far my preference goes to Nordost without any hesitation. However QED and Wireworld cables can be interesting in some systems as well (eg. the sinergy between Rega and QED is evident to me; I also heard a good match between an Atom and some Magnapan speakers).

By the way I only have one Chord C-Stream ethernet cable. Considering how cheap it is, I was very surprised about its quality and I can only recommend it if you don’t want to spend much. Sooner or later I’ll consider replacing it with something better from Nordost or Chord, we’ll see.

I use C-Stream between my NAS and srteamer/pre amp. It’s the only ethernet cable that sounds natural and without fatigue (to me). I’ve tried others (Vodka, Hemidall 2) which initially sound exciting, but it soon becomes very apparent that they are unatural sounding and fatiguing. That initial exciting sound deliberately engineered in?

You need synergy to get nordost to the fullest.. like any other cable makes . After demoing so many cables , and with synergy, nordost gives the most realistic sound reproduction. , lightning fast , and has the sweetest mid . Nordost attack is frightening. That’s the WOW one gets in a recording.
Nordost are very system dependent , once you get it right w a full loom, it will sings for hours without fatigue. U need to get use to the sound w at least 300 hrs burn in, with the right system , you won’t want to turn off your system

To add , there’s quite a good numbers of naim user in my country using Nordost in their naim system .

Despite being a Nordost fan, I have to say the C-Stream sounds pretty good, especially at its price point. Right now I’d be curious to test a Heimdall 2 ethernet cable just to compare. I can’t comment if the sound would be natural or not. I think I’ll consider it only when all the other cables are properly upgraded, right now I would need to upgrade one power cable to get the system more balanced.

At first I was kind of shocked indeed lol.

I couldn’t agree more!

Really? You are from Belgium if I’m not mistaken. Good to know, I think Naim and Nordost match pretty well. In this forum many might criticize this, but I think it’s a match made in heaven.

Thank you @naimophile, that’s very kind of you and I really appreciate it  If I ever end up in your area, be sure I’ll contact you. I’d really love to have such an experience, especially when shared with another enthusiast like me. Nordost has been in my veins for quite a while now, you know that! I could easily spend a whole day (maybe more?) trying them all!
