I have a Nova and I want to use an external hard drive via USB. It works very well for me with the Naim app. However, when I check from page 192.168.1.33, the test shows excessive RAM and CPU usage. Without the external drive, the usage is normal. I suppose it has to do with indexing and embedded covers. Could something be wrong? Is my Nova at risk if I use it under this load? The drive is a 1TB HDD with an external power supply so it doesn’t draw power from the port. Does anyone have any ideas or experience? I could store the files on a Mac mini, but I prefer to keep things simple. Thanks.
I use a little 1To SSD in USB on my NOVA PE. never thought to look at the ram and cpu usage.
it just works ![]()

The red light is on in the RAM section of the diagnostics page. I wouldn’t take that lightly.
I wouldn’t sweat it too much it just means its low on ram, sounds like its indexing. Worse case is the thing crashes and you reboot it.
