nSub input question

Hi, I have difficulty to understand the nSub manual when it comes to input selection (AW, Amp or Aux). I have two nSubs in daisy chain configuration powered from my 552/500. Which input (AW, Amp, Aux) should be used for 1) the first nSub (connected to the 552) and 2) the second (daisy chained) nSub?

Best regards

I thought that; AW is for AV systems where you might be using a processor, which demands Unity Gain be used.
Amp is used where the feed is from the speaker cables.
Aux is used as a line-input.
I use a line input into mine but I only have one n-Sub, fed from a non-Naim amp. (I use it only in my AV system)
But I could be wrong - it’s a long time ago that I set it all up.

Thanks Blythe!

Anyone have any idea about input for the second ”daisy chained” nSub?

Mine are set to AMP on No.1 (Connected from speaker cables) and AV on the No.2 (Connected over coaxial cable from No.1)

Thanks RealityComputer! I Will test your no 2 configuration.

I should have said, coaxial is RCA to RCA, going from RCA socket labeled “mono out” on sub 1 (the sub connected to speaker wire) to RCA socket “mono in” on sub 2 (the “stand-alone” sub)

I think I’ve got that right!

You should not use the high level input on your sub No. 1 as your NAP500 is a bridged power amp. Use the low level connection from the 552.

It’s possible to use a high level connection with the 500, you just need to use suitable cables, unlike regular amps with which you can use any cheap speaker cable.

I think you mean the low level connection here. That’s what the OP is using.

Sorry, my bad. I did mean the low level connection from the pre-amp. Now corrected.

I have the first nSub connected to the 552 (low level) and the nSub input on AUX and the second (daisy chained) nSub connected via mono out on the first sub and its input on AV. Does this sound correct?

Best regards

That sounds correct to me.

Thanks!
