Given the other Oasis thread I sense there aren’t many fans on here. I guess I am prime age though, teenager in the 90’s, friends who were obsessed etc. I was more into my hip hop and electronic music at the time. Oasis reminds me of my best mates old Mk 1 Vauxhall Astra. Complete with 6x9’s on the rear shelf.
I am though, incredibly excited to be travelling up to Manchester tomorrow, with my extremely excited wife, to experience what I’m sure will be a very nostalgic song-along.
Oasis isn’t hi-fi, or technically good music, but it’s part of my history.
I’d love to, but too expensive for me here in Chicago. I see us, fans, as a cash machine.
I did see them earlier in Toulouse, back in the days… This was fantastic.
Let’s see if they stick together for a while…
See you there cayorob! Thought they were great at the time, driving the britpop revolution . Still love the energy of Definitely Maybe. Now to just try and get some sleep…
Saw them a couple of times. Once at Wembley Arena and the other time at Knebworth.
We used to live in Knebworth and didn’t have tickets. It was raining and we just decided to walk up in the evening. We soon found a couple of touts selling tickets. I offered them £20 for a couple of tickets. They weren’t happy but as I said to them the weather is lousy the support bands have almost finished so who else is going to buy them.
One of them agreed so in we went. Got pretty wet and watched a big screen but the atmosphere was great.
Not my favourite band by a long shot but I really like Definitely Maybe and What’s the Story isn’t bad.
Just spoken to my 42 year old son on the occasion of his birthday. I asked what he was doing to celebrate. He has been searching the Internet all day for a single ticket to tonights Wembley Oasis gig. He will leave his wife at home. Seems fair enough if he was a fan but this is the first I’ve heard of it. He did however see them at Cardiff a couple of weeks ago and was so impressed he just has to go again. I worry abouth that boy.
The nineties were probably the years where I bought most of my collection and went to concerts. Always a very good band, in those years but feedback from the recent concerts indicates that they are still today.
Probably a bit underwhelmed by folks that grew up a decade earlier
