They don’t???
The fees are passed on to the buyer.
I don’t think so.
I sold something for £86 the other week, and received £86.
If the buyer paid from their eBay wallet, PayPal wouldn’t be involved.
If the buyer used PayPal, maybe the seller pays PayPal fees.
Bad luck.
At times, did see an item for sale where the buyer indicated that the seller was to pay the PayPal fee, in terms of your transaction maybe the buyer paid from his PayPal wallet but there was no PayPal fee.
They’ve done away with fees in some countries only (UK & Germany?), so far at least.
That explains the no-charge fee then.
Ah, OK. I don’t believe they have done that here in the good ol’ USofA!
Unfortunately not. I guess the competition here hasn’t gotten strong enough (yet? We can hope)
Nor in Canada. Something else for me to read up on
Acoustica are very good. I got a 2018 555DR for £2950 a few weeks ago. That was a bargain deal but overall, I agree prices have come down significantly. I think the average price for a Supercap DR is £2000-2500 at the moment. I haven’t seen that many 252s; but I would estimate £2500-3000 is probably the range you can expect to pay. I paid more for mine but it was a brand new unused ex-demo unit with a 5 serial number.
Just on the eBay, thing, does a UK seller have any charges now? I sold something the other week and yrsterday got my full money inc postage.
Yep, no fees for private sellers anymore. It is a refreshing change! No idea how they are managing to do it. They must be taking a huge revenue hit; but I understand they have increasing competition from other sites and so had no choice.
I was highest bidder on a SNAXO 362 for T808 being sold by that retailer on eBay recently. After a couple of days my bid was cancelled and the item disappeared from the listings. I was rather miffed, but I assume it was either sold in the shop or the owner decided not to sell.
There’s a good chance the photo shown on the auction, wasn’t an actual photo of the item you were bidding on.
They use a stock photo for each particular type of component.
A bit naughty.
To be fair, that is not the case with acoustica. They always take and show pretty consistent photos. I think it is more the original point made - someone offered them a good price to take it off sale (probably in the shop).
Well it was a couple of years ago.
I was on the lookout for an xps2 and noticed every one that had sold had an identical photo.
When I was looking at their site, they appeared to use the same photo repeatedly when selling multiples (of the same item)
Not sure how but today I’ve just bought a 252 to replace my SN3.
Managed to get it in a PX deal so the 252 cost me the princely sum of £350.
It’s a 2009 model so will likely need a service but even with cost of that (I’m guessing that will be about £500 from Class A) I think it’s still pretty god value.
Also gets me closer only “end game” setup which will likely be Active with my Kudos 606’s.
£350 is a good deal. As you said, it’s a 2009 model, so it will need a service. I prefer to buy naim kit with no service history (and certainly no modifications) and have Darran service them. That way, you know it has been returned to factory and is good for another 12 to 15 years.
My 282 has just been returned; it’s a 2011 model. I need to keep enjoying it and keep thoughts of 252s out of my head.
