Of Old and New Amps

I posted a thread with this caption an hour ago. It included a joke that apparently offended someone (or at least I hope that it personally offended someone, because if the person who flagged it was moved by a generic, WOKE sensitivity it would be too hypocritical and stupid even for today’s standards).

But my thread without the joke had no sense, so I removed it. May the virtuous guy (he, she, it, they?) feel in peace with his/her/its/their conscience.

Well, I neither know what the joke was, nor why it was flagged so, if it helps, Max, I would seem to be even more in the dark than you.

So, what would we like to talk about now?

It was about how I turn back to Naim after occasional, or more convinced, flings with other amps. Nothing revolutionary or even new, but the joke was funny and sort of told the whole story in a few lines and under a somehow cynical light. Jokes are like that. But someone found it disrespectful, or tasteless, or who knows what. Since the guy chose anonymity, we’ll never know.

For sure, if I reflect that 80% of the posts in the Best Jokes thread are about women and 100% of those are mildly, or heavily, misogynist, I smile at being flagged for a joke on a rooster.

While I’ve used Naim since the late 80’s, I did occasionally used other brands gear.

Rega kit were contender to Naim.

After my LP12 turntable era, I went with several other British decks such as Pink Triangle, Systemdek, Funk and a few others, before I settled with Rega.

The doorstop scenario with Naim CD players, began long ago, I faced it in due time and went with Rega players.

With release of Aethos amp, I thought this was my final amp - if there ever will be one - I’m left with both Rega and Naim amps, and there’s no final of old or new.

IME Naim loudspeakers were very visionary, and I owned a few during time.
Its a pity their range didn’t went on, followed more evolvement.
