Oh good grief!

So I bought some ML5909’s. So I thought I’d use them cabled instead of Bluetoothed when convenient, even though the LDAC codec was pretty impressive.

So I saw I had a couple of supplied cables, USB to 3.5mm jack and also a USB to USB.

So I thought the sound from the phone with the jacked lead wasn’t impressive and decided to get a USB amp/DAC dongle to improve things (see where I’m going with this?).

I bought an iFI Go Link Max and noticed an improvement.

But last night, I was thinking about what the money was paying for in the ML’s. ANC, incoming phonecalls of course but also…. Wait a minute… D’OH!!! A DAC! Could it be that THIS was why they’d come with a USB to USB cable?

Is it possible the onboard DAC might do the job better than any bridging dongle?

Oh…. look at that huge bruise from kicking myself.:enraged_face:

According to the website, that’s just a charging cable.

Manual says otherwise:
”The № 5909 can be connected and used to listen to content via USB Digital Direct using the standard USB-C to USB-C charging cable included.”

They stand corrected.
