Hi all,

I have an Olive Supercap which was last serviced in 2017.

Would the SC be due for a service about now?

I think 8-10yrs is the recommendation for Olive.

I’d wait for a few more years personally judging from experience. A 250 by comparison i’d look at after 10 years.

Darren at Class A said to me that Supercap should be done every 10 years.

So wait 2 years more.

He did my Supercap 2 (since sold),52 and XPS2 in a day. I was making a holiday of it. So booked him in. Great service! All sold and moved on. Although I didn’t benefit much from the services, the future owners will!

Thanks for all the advice.

The previous owner had it serviced by Darran at Class A in Oct 2017 so I’ll wait a couple more years as suggested.

My 52PS was done at Class A in 2016. My 135s were done 2018. I’ll not be in a rush for the 52 and unless I can hear any SQ degradation I’ll hold off until the 135s in 2028 need it and get them all done in one go.

Class A website does actually says 10-15yrs for Naim gear.

But…

When should I service my Naim equipment?

According to Naim: “This is a question often asked, and the Naim Service Department recommendations are as follows: for the Chrome bumper (circa 1975 to 1989) and Olive (circa 1989 - 2000) range products, we recommend every 8 - 10 years and for the newer Black products (2000 - present), every 12 - 15 years.” When asked about wear rates, component degradation and servicing on current equipment, Steve Sells commented as follows;
