We are setting up a 3 332/350 system.
However we think we are folowing the steps for pairing the remote for the 332 as described in the manual however pairing does not take place.
Has anything been changed on updated firmware for the 332?

Factory reset by holding down rear button and make sure your remote batteries are new.
The problem turned out to be a wrong remote for 333 or any of the combined streamers. As soon as we found or provided my 332 remote everything worked as expected.

Stroke of pure genius, Naim making all the Uniti/NC remotes identical with no identification marks, not even inside the battery compartment ![]()

You probably know this.. but just in case. The 333 remote can be used to change the volume on the 332. My 332 remote is back in the box as I find the 333 remote along with system automation is all I need. You can’t select sources of course other than if you start streaming and the 332 has another source selected, it will automatically move from previous source to streaming source.
Both amazingly clean of fingermarks too!
I think the lower one may still wear its protective film…….?
And…….. whilst they’re obviously different, how do you tell which is which after six months of just using the app…..? ![]()

You don’t need to know the difference. They are both equally nasty, and if you leave them in the box unused you’ll never have to worry about it.
Although I gather there’s quite a nice metal version…….. sadly incompatible with NC kit

I have to say, I hate the new remotes.
Sharp edges. Huge. Bad ergonomics.
The older Naim optical remotes seemed to work great. The change seems like tech for the sake of tech. No real world benefits.
4x AAA batteries in 2026? Come on. Li-ion USB C rechargeable would be a meaningful feature.
No backwards compatibility with RCOM remote is a real shame.
Perhaps to match the NC/Uniti heat sinks…..? ![]()

There’s a metal version of the New Classic remote too. It will have the same limited functionality as the plastic one and the same brick shape, but without the plasticky feel. It’s supplied with the ND555.
My dealer found out that there is a small but important difference with the buttons not appearing in the same sequence. But when even sighted people get this wrong when possible it is a good sign of something being to hard to spot. Of course when you receive units that has not been unpacked the problem should never happen.

Because of the enormous drain on batteries I have resorted to using the 555 remote to save batteries and live without the ability to change input I always use the same anyway, and the ability to power down and up, a small anoyance, but worth saving the world for a big number of used batteries.
If you turn the movement detection off, the batteries will last a lot longer.
Counter experience -
The batteries on my 332 last over 6 months. Not a big deal. I love the remote. No useless clutter. Just what you need … sources, volume (current level indication and up/down), balance, and mute. Like the way it handles. Fingerprints are irrelevant.
I’ll believe you’ll find that whilst the 555 remote will operate Uniti’s, eg HH’s Atom HE, it doesn’t support NC kit, at least that what Naim tell me…….
Happy to be corrected

Maybe you have never owned previous naim remotes especially the ololder genration that would last for y years with 2 batteries. You can learn to live with almost everything just forget the marketing hipe about BLE meaning low battery use and be happy that line of site is no longer needed.
It is done in the app so unfortunately that is already factored in. since the 332 remote is not reachable by the Naim app if there is a setting on this one I may never have configured it.
