Ive owned a 9000 for about 6 years now and it has worked perfectly all that time, there is no noise or vibration when the discs are playing as the 9000 is a very robust design and has excellent build quality.

I play a lot of Hi-Res Blu-ray Music discs on the 9000 and the sound quality is excellent, the DAC’s in the 9000 are very good for an AV piece of equipment, especially the balanced output, but you can send the Hi-Res output via the HDMI Audio output into an external Hi-End DAC if you want better sound quality.

Picture quality, as I’m sure you know, is best in class based on numerous professional reviews.

But this would depend on where you’re sending the sgnal. If you’re using a DSP soundbar, you go direct via hdmi into it.

The context of my post was if you wanted better sound quality than the 9000 analogue balanced output i.e. stereo, by sending the Hi-Res stereo digital output to your HiFi System DAC, but its assuming that that would be better sound quality than sending the analogue balanced output to the same HiFi System, which is the case with my HiFi System.

I appreciate you can connect the 9000 HDMI outputs to AV Amps and soundbars for surround sound duties, which I also do into my Denon AV Amp.

I dispensed with my “good” CD player and am very happy with the balanced output of the 9000 into amp to play music . Nothing else required .
