On Saturday I attended the Paris Hifi show. Rather encouraging for our hobby/obsession was the long queues to enter the large conference centre.
Really enjoyed demonstrations in Wilson Audio/D’Agostino/Audio Research room. Although completely outside my budget, the sound was incredible and the choice of music really showed what the 4 systems could do.
Even though I had to queue for about 40 minutes the demonstartion of a purpose built home cinema room based on Klipsh speakers(30 people in a room that took 24 hours to construct) really showed what you can do if you have the space.
There were packed rooms for some speakers such as Triangle and some almost empty rooms where you could really here the difference between systems.
The thing that really suprised me was I did not hear a single system using a turntable. Most were using streaming and a few were using CD based systems which pleased me as my system is CD based.
Cyrus/NAD/bluesound room was disappointing as the room was small and although you could here music the speakers were too close together and no where to sit.
Naim/Focal room was also disappointing as the were exclusively demoing Focal headphones through Naim all in one headphone amps.
Anyone else here went?
