A sad day indeed. We are all aware of his contribution to the hifi industry and the loss of his extensive knowledge is a loss for all of us. Best wishes and condolences to his family.

Sad news indeed.
About 30 years ago i wrote to him at a HiFi mag about my system. He gave me a call and we had a friendly chat over the phone and my letter was published. Several years latter I met him at a HiFi show in Manchester, I think it was, and he remembered me. We had a further friendly chat. Nice guy.

Thanks to Paul for all your honesty - albeit green tinged, I can only concur with such leanings! Along with Malcolm Steward he did much for Salisbury, but both always came across as having reliably honest and genuinely enthusiastic views on what they heard. Rare enough in hobby magazines to be worthy of thanks and appreciation. RIP Paul.

Paul Messenger and Chris Thomas both passed away within the last year. Very sad!
