Or, to put it another way, dogs have owners, whilst cats have staff.

Mind you, once cats work out how to operate a can opener, they’ll have no further use for us!

She’s lovely - a rescue cat.

I brought her home, she fled behind the curtains you can see, and I didn’t see her again for two weeks.

She found a loose base on a kitchen unit and hid under the built in cooker for two weeks.

They’ll keep some of us as slaves to fish, farm cattle and fill the tins.

Ah, but they will need us to provide laps to curl up in and for stroking

I suspect they already know how to open cans, why put the effort in when they can have us think we’re useful?

We had a rescue cat a few years ago who had lived in a greenhouse for a few months because his new owner already had a cat that turned out to bully him if he went in the house. We rescued him and he hid under a wardrobe In our spare room for a couple of weeks. But he completely settled in with our three other cats…

I’m rather enjoying Ann Cleaves’ work at the moment. Working my way through Shetland.

I think I have read all of them - 8 Vera books and I think about the same number of Shetland. She also started a new detective fairly recently based in Devon or Cornwall. Didn’t like that one - you might expect a need to allow the character to develop but having recently started with Vera at book 1 that grabbed me immediately

Having a nice afternoon listening session. A snoring dog and a cheeky glass of Laphroaig (out of sight) add to the listening pleasure…

Alf is now 13. He’s a rescue and been with us 11 years. More of a snoozer these day but hopefully a few more years in him yet. Old man privilege means he’s allowed on the sofa and he’ll come and sit with me whilst I enjoy a few albums, only needing the occasional tummy rub to keep him happy.

What’s the best way to post a video here? I have one of my dog singing.

If it’s posted to Youtube, then copy the direct share link and paste it in the Add an Image box and it will then appear in your post.

Is it a cover version of Pink Floyd’s Seamus from Meddle.

Let’s try this - hopefully the audio came with it. Casper doing his sing-along. So far it’s the only song he knows. And he’s 14, so probably too old to learn another.
