Playlist for David Bowie Day

Part of my annual celebration on the 10th January, in my Calendar as ‘David Bowie Day’, is the use of a Playlist based on an article in The Guardian in 2020 ‘50 Greatest Songs - Ranked!, with comments on each track, accompanying the playing of these 50 tracks, 5 hours worth.

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/mar/19/david-bowie-50-greatest-songs-ranked

Based on a request for it, I have exported from a Playlist in Roon into Tidal, and adjusted to the different album versions in Tidal (we can debate the remasters/versions maintained in Tidal, please adjust accordingly)

And also converted to Qobuz - https://sdz.sh/dnSLuy/qobuz

And Spotify https://sdz.sh/mcASQo/spotify
The original request, was ‘Can I have this playlist in Spotify’!!

But where does it sit?

I was just taking The Guardian’s list and transposing into a playlist

I also like the set list from the Glastonbury concert in 2000. I imagine David thought and considered carefully about that set list.

For me number one. Always been a favourite and on my fav album.
There ‘s something about the sadness of the warnings and the sadness now that we ignored the warnings. We continue to kill ourselves.

That was the insightful nature of the man, look however he predicted the importance & impact of the internet.

For me it’s Hunky Dory but Ziggy is close behind.

I have listened to the first two hours so far Thanks very much for this Simon

Many thanks! Excellent when someone else does your work for you.

I have also shared with my 26 yr old son who is a massive Bowie fan (bought up well :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:)

Happy New Year.

I’m not a huge Bowie fan, but for those on here, I’ve just noticed there’s a series of Bowie TV programmes late on Friday night, on BBC 4.

The Old Grey Whistle Test session of Bowie doing Five Years was absolutely outstanding, one of my favourite Whistle test sessions

I heard a great acoustic version of Heroes last night on Radio Paradise and spent a good hour tracking it down. It was from The Bridge School Concerts vol 1. This opened up another rabbit hole, it ended up being a late night :joy:

ps I get an error when I try to get Qobus playlist above. Any suggestions?
