Happy Friday Everyone!
I am looking at the Naim SN3 and would appreciate any thoughts on the PMC 5.24i floor stander.
Does the SN3 have enough power? And would my 15x13 room with two 5 foot archway openings be a good fit?
thank you!

Is it possible to hear them, in your listening room ?
From recent experience of selecting new speakers, would say that speakers are sufficiently "room dependant’ to make this worthwhile, (if you are able to do this). I was genuinely surprised by differences between dealer demo’ room and listening at home.
Ended up with PMC 23i, then adding active modules.
Used them as passive with a SN3 for a few weeks, before changing to 282 pre and active speakers.
Good luck

Great speakers (I have heard them on several occasions) but they are physically quite big. I would look at speaker size vs room interaction before wondering whether the SN3 will drive them adequately (which i suspect it would).
Thank you! the Audiovector R3 and Devore Super Nine look interesting too.
No dealer here sadly. Appreciate your input.
They are actually easier to drive than the 23s and I have driven the 23s with very modestly powered amps from 30w up to 85w. The quality of the amp is more important than the power so while the 23s worked much better with my 250 than my UQ2, the main factor was quality rather than power handling. I am sure the 24i will be perfectly fine with the SN3.
Perfectly fine with the room? No idea.
The only relationships between speaker size as such and room are space occupied and aesthetics… but yes, as larger speakers tend to have greater bass capability they might expose more room problems, however suitable layout can often solve. I have used speakers of greater bass capability than the 24 in a rooms of 16’ max x11’9, with no issues.
The OP’s two open archways may very well make a significant difference to performance depending on sizes of openings and what lies beyond. A common effect of openings is reduction of bass in the room. The trouble is that with ny room that is not a plain rectangle it can be very hard to predict sound, and only trying at home will confirm for certain whether particular speakers work, or without considerable effort to sort things out. That said, my gut feeling is that a room as so far described shouldn’t prove a problm for the 24.
A for nearby dealers, not an uncommon problem. You can audition (with your amp, taking your eistiin gpeakers to ptovide a point of comparison in a different room), and if happy see if you can have. Home demo as final confirmation (some dealers happy to do even at some distance -(offer to pay their travelling cotst), or possibly sale or return. If buying secondhand, which I’d do,then you cn likely mov them on at minimal loss if theyprov unsuitable , though still her first!
More than enough power for the 25.24i, go for it. It’s a wonderful combination!
I ran Twenty 23’s with a SN2 for years and it was a fabulous combination. 23’s are harder to drive than 24’s apparently.
I’d say that the 24i would benefit from more than the SN3. You profile doesn’t say what you have now, other than ‘Atom’. What source are you planning to use with the SN3?
It’s worth considering the active version of the PMCs. I’ve activated my 21is and it’s something of a game changer. An Atom HE or NSC 222 and the active speakers may be all you need.
My room is 15 by 12 and I’m not sure I’d want the 24is in it. They are deep speakers and you’d probably find 23s a better fit. With active, the amp power becomes irrelevant.
