Good evening has anyone had any experience of Shunyata venom block and how it compares to chord m6
Apart @opus , who has a Shunyata power conditioner, nobody has it . Opus has an hybrid integrated, so no Naim.
If you have Naim, it would be less risky to go for the M6, or Furutech 609 . I have tried top Isotek power conditioners with Naim and was disappointed. Cleaner, a bit more detailed, but softer and less involving sound, with Naim amps.
I use the Venom power distributor, but not with any Naim products anymore. I have not used the other one you mentioned either, so probably not much help to you, sorry.
I use it with a Venom power cord to power my Nagra Classic amp, and a LFD power cord for my Lumin P1.
I can’t compare to the Shunyata, but I’ve got an M6 and are really pleased with it. Mine is connected to the mains via a Chord Signature X cable, which appears (and sounds) to be pretty good.
I’ve seen many Shunyata users moving to Puritan 156 saving huge amount of money.
I didn’t knew you had the Venom. Hope you are satisfied. Does Nagra recommend it or other ?
I am not sure what Nagra recommends, my local dealer (not Nagra) had one that he let me home demo for a month. I needed more outlets than what one receptacle gave me, so I had to do something.
After trying it out, I decided to keep it, no night and day difference, just happy with what it provided.
I would also be very interested if anyone has directly compared the Venom to any of the good popular blocks people have around.
I’ve had and compared a fairly ridiculous number of blocks but not yet the Venom - if we mean this one
… with what they call ArNi® VTX™ quite impressive 6 mm2 wiring and their CCI noise suppression.
I am still not entirely sure if it’s passive, active or a hybrid but it could be good.
For streaming in particular I did not get along with neither the Chord S6 or M6 or the Puritans.
It appears there are several different Venom blocks, mine is the PS-10, and the one above is obviously a different model.
Hmm, doing a quick google search, the V6 is called a power conditioner. My PS-10 they call it a power distributor. I think power conditioners are not supposed to work well with Naim, only going by what I have read on this forum.
Going back to the Shunyata power blocks have been to a dealer who stocks Naim demo of chord M6 then shunyata he said having excellent results with shunyata and said out performing the chord and from what I heard am inclined to agree when used with shunyata power cables
