Agree, they work well.
A downside can be that you either get gold or rhodium plating with them. The plating alone changes the tone/presentation vs. standard sockets considerably (mostly nickel plated). This can be a change for the better… or not. If possible, matching the plating of the socket to the plug it’ll receive usually gives the best - most balanced - result.

There is a much cheaper - sometimes even better - way to improve sockets too.
Not sure about the UK but in the Shuko world, nearly all domestic sockets now have ‘push-in’ connections. You just push in the solid conductor from the in-wall wires and they are fixed. Good for quick & easy installation. Sparky’s and builders love them. Not so much for audio. The contact surface of these ‘grab & hold’ connections is very small and loose.

Simply swapping them out for sockets with screw terminals typically provides a very clear improvement in overall SQ. Small things can make a big difference.

It is exactly as you write. In my case, I have Furutech gold-plated plugs on the power cables and I chose the same finish on the power socket - I do not regret it :).

But as I wrote earlier, in combination with another test power strip (theoretically audio-video, but not audiophile) it gave a less pleasant combination.

Very curious about these. I wonder what type/make of sockets they use.

Happy New Year…not sure about Chord strip, too expensive

In your case the upgrade from your actual power strip will be probably bigger than when adding a second 555 dr. Or in the same proportions at least.

Bjorn,
Did you get any price indication? I was demonstrated a prototype version almost a year ago, it certainly was effective. It was a short demo but based on that I would consider that before investing in there more exotic/expensive Sarum T power cables. At that time the anticipated retail price for the top model was expected to be in the Sarum T range…

Happy New Year all!

You guess so? otherwise there is no way to be sure right now,you know how much I failed when I tried to guess?I never count,it was too much, anyway I wish you’re right

I’m using Chord music for my power block

Normally such products can be returned if not satisfied. A lot of online sites do that.

Thats not a problem for me...my dealer will give me a week to try...what s bother me is the price…too expensive

It still applies

Excuse me Meni, but with the system and cabling you have, how can it be too expensive to follow up with an equally good power strip?

I think a cheaper power strip in the all market can be also equally good…higher prices does not
mean it`s better

But there are no many between 500 dollars and 2000 dollars. If you can get the Eros Titan, it’s around 700/800 dollars.

I need only one…between 500$-700&

Eros Titan as i remember is yours strip…are you satisfied? or you think to upgrade in the future?

Just make your own for about £300, using good quality wire, sockets.
You can wire it all up very easily as it’s only 3 wires, do them all star wired as then no interference from each other and no plug in order.
You could even put something like isoacoustic feet on it for isolation.

Sod paying thousands for a power strip

I got a secondhand russ Andrews 6 way, removed the little board from it, re wired it all so that it’s all star wired and then mounted it in the wall like a normal socket, it works very well as the sockets are good quality and mounted in the wall no vibrations from the floor to worry about and the best thing was the cost, a very cheap mod
