@Bart has an Anzus powerblock. But be prepared to take an appointment with your bank councillor
Chord strip i will also need an appointment with my bank councillor
I have an Anzus strip. Before the ansuz I had Isotek Sirius (I tested both 2 days and kept Ansuz). The difference in sound is very clear. With Ansuz, I got a bigger sound stage, more air between instruments and better positioning of instruments in space. I also changed the cable that leads to the strip and only with Ansuz X2 power cable, I got all these improvements. Also amazing is the jump I got using the Ansuz switch, I wouldn’t believe anyone else if I hadn’t tried it (of course using the Ansuz power X1 cable to the switch), (with the Isotek Sekual cable, it worked like a regular switch).
It`s very expensive …i believe…Does your switch also Anzus?
Yes, ansuz power switch x·tc
Ansuz Mainz8 D·TC SUPREME Power distributor price 20000€…it`s almost crazy
Mine is 2000€
ansuz power switch x·tc yours is 1500€…that`s makes sense
Hi @frenchrooster, Not 100% sure where you live and so what physical socket you have but I’m assuming that you can insert your mains plugs in one of two orientation aka German schuko. When I lived in Germany and connections of live/neutral were important we used to place a mark on the socket on one side and once orientation was confirmed we put a mark alongside the first on the actual plug so that the marks were next to each other. Easy to always maintain same connection if there was a need to disconnect and then reconnect.
I am sure you have guessed where I live
Yes, with a mark on the cable it would be easier. However I more often read that the most demanding in current components should be plugged near the wall powerblock cable plug
Yep, your username probably gives it away. . With regard to the marking I suppose you could change the marks to a number system or even labels on the plug end of the cable, this would allow both orientation and order to be maintained. Labels may just be a step too far but if the option could work then why not give it a try. Just a suggestion and not meant to be dictating how things should be done.
Yes, but with the Ansuz power cable, the price is 2000.
My mind immediately went to the gatefold image in ZZ Top’s Tres Hombres LP.
Yes, thanks for the suggestion. Maybe one day, on holidays, I will take some time to do it. But honestly I don’t think it will change something. Before all was plugged in no special order and the order I use now didn’t changed the sound.
I will probably do it when I will clean again all my contacts.
This comparison interests me.
Few months ago I purchased Puritan PSM136 power filter to try out with my system (Linn ADSM/3 + ATC SCM50ASL’s) and while it did some good things, it also took something away from music. The sound came overly polite and smooth, while still retaining details quite well but also losing some attack/kick and reach in the deepest bass. After a month, I finally settled back to my old power strip (Audioconnexion with Ölflex cable and Furutech CU Schuko) and sold the PSM136. I did keep the Puritan Classic power cables though, they work very well with regular power strips when there’s no filtering done. They do give some of that effect I got with PSM136 but the attack and kick is still there.
Now a week ago I received Furutech e-TP66E and really like what I hear. Your description of polished and smooth is quite accurate, but this block doesn’t take away the attack. I’m quite happy with this one and it stays in the system now. I did consider PS108 or actually PS106 which should also be available but there’s a price difference in advantage of Furutech.
Anything more you could share about this comparison? Still happy with PS108?
Yes, I’m very happy with the PS108. I think it’s really excellent in my system. But that doesn’t say it will perform the same in yours and/or that you like it as much as I do obviously.
The TP66E was ‘the last man standing’ next to the PS108 in my comparisons. Very nice, controlled and smooth sounding. In a different system/room I could easily see it as an equal or better option than the Puritan but in mine it wasn’t.
JS, what is your plug in order on the AV Options strip?
Hey Mike.
Couldnt live with the Merlin cable! Too spikey and seemed to do something weird with the soundstage. Vocals seemed recesses and a bit topey, lost their depth.
Atlas Eos 4dd arrived today. Much much better. Things sound right again plus lower noise floor and more detail. Bank managers not very happy mind you!
Atlas seem to be my happy place for cables, my interconnects are also from them
That was my experience too. never liked Matrix2 and i gave it enough time. Music Line’s simple strip is much better
i use for many years the simple version and it is much better than WW Matrix2 i have also used for about a year before give up. I bought it as an upgrade but it was not…
