Power Strip

Have you compared it with the mains voltage in the wall, are there any losses? Thanks.

no measurements, just listening experience.

Me either …use Matrix 2 many years and really disappoint …the reason is i`m waiting until now is becouse my dealer will get very soon the new Chord strip

Hi @davidf
The plug in order starting with the plug closest to mains wire is NAP500-NAC552- ND555 power supplies as per instructions that came with the AV Options unit. BTW mine only has 6 outlets not 9 as you had indicated.
I was going to ask, are all your wires off the floor with your setup on Fraim? What is the order on your brawn stack starting at the top. Thanks

My Super Wiremold AV options strip has 9 outlets. 500ps on 1, 552ps on 5 and 555ps on 9.
You can see my Fraim set up on System Pics 2022 post #54
Left Right
552. 555ps
Ndx2. 500ps
500. 552ps
Space. Space

All DR
None of my cables touch the floor except Powerlines

Very pleased with my set up

I’ve been using the Wiremold recommended by my Naim dealer for about 30 years and it’s never been a problem.

I’m very happy with my Shunyata Denali S6000 v.2 Shunyata Alpha Pc’s and dedicated 20amp circuits with Oyaide R1 outlets

I can imagine. That’s some healthy outlay on mains. But this is in a non-Naim system right? (looking at your profile).

Correct. At one time I had SN2 with HiCap Dr but needed more power and Naim Separates in the US are very over priced

which simple strip you mean?

I had been using AQ niagrara - first was 1000 now 1200. I had tried all into wall but didnt like it. Now everything is onto my 1200 n its music to me.

But im interested to knw if anyone had used their 500 series on a nordost Q6 though n how it fare against AQ niagara.

Here in France some like a lot the Nordost powerblock with Nordost power cable with Naim, 500 series included.
It’s a well regarded powerblock.
However the Nordost cables have a bit lean character that may not suit everyone. I once tried the 1k Nordost power cord on some of my components, Nap 300 dr I had before, and pre also, but it not engaged me.

I’ve been trialling a Shunyata Denali with various Alpha, Delta and Venom power cables and have now placed an order for an Everest (I couldn’t trial that one but it is supposed to be significantly better than Denali) and Alpha power cables.

I once tried a nordost H2 power cord into my previous nDAC, didnt engage me either.

I guess since im happy w my AQ 1200, i shld stick w it.

Perhaps save my money to see if nordost QNet is worth it or not (at least wil hv better synergy w my recent purchase of nordost V2 n H2 ethernet cable)…

@delta i would be really (!) interested in your experiece/review when the new Shunyata is in. Have the Everest on my radar
Iver

Will do Iver. I am hoping to get all the stuff mid Feb. I’m getting a Sigma cable from wall to Everest. Alphas to power the four Naim PSUs and Venoms for the Innuos boxes.

Been using the ifi powerstation and it’s a great powerstrip but ordered the Furutech e-tp609e NFC to see what an unfiltered powerstrip brings.

Sean made up a Powerblack with bulgin connector for my 160BD I bought used in 2020 and the sound was like getting a recap compared to the original lamp cable it came with.

I tried 2 different positions of my components into the power strip.
Sources , then pre, and finally the power amp . Changed the second day for 555 dr first and 250 dr on the second position ( vs the power wall plug).
The later order works the best in my case, with more grip and a livelier sound.
