Powerline question

The IEC on the Powerline is fundamental in raising it to it’s high standard. Any dealer suggesting that you buy a Powerline and remove it for any reason needs questioning IMO.

Could then an alternatve to a powerline lite ( not sure if these are sold in the Netherlands) be to add a Furutech cable and mains plug to their angled connector.

That’ll work, or wait till it’s moved and got more room then add the Powerline!

If you replace the IEC then in effect you no longer have a Naim Powerline. You have created some sort of Frankenstein hybrid. The IEC is a critical and integral part of the design. The performance characteristics of your new creation will be unknown. It’s quite possible that it will be unbalanced (as was Baron Frankenstein’s effort!) and may not perform overall as well as the standard lead.

Personally I wouldn’t bother with a modified Powerline Lite - probably won’t sound much better than what you have now. Wait until you can do it properly.

Agree, just informed the dealer that I will not go this way. Offers come and go!

Messing with the IEC connector also seems a quick way to turn a £x00 cable into a £x0 one…

This is really a different topic, but has anyone had a chance to compare the European Powerline to the UK one? Furutech plug as opposed to a Naim one. Side-by-side comparisons are impossible of course.
