Yup, the 16yr old Joel Drakes-Thomas is definitely a star in the making. Won’t be long before the Arse come sniffing
Glasner ‘… the XI players who didn’t start today will start at Leeds. It’s easy." 2 games in 48 hours now irrelevant. Glasner’s so confident he can roll us over he’s named his starting 11 already. Tough game for us against one of the Premier League’s elite.
Newcastle have had the dizzy and less up for it Chelsea show up today. Not much of a contest!
Made worse by dropping Woltemade from my Fantasy team this week!
Chelsea has no defence whatsoever. No control in midfield. Newcastle should be 4 up at least.
Frustrated. A game of two halves, but yet more points thrown away from a leading position. Yet more evidence that VAR is not fit for purpose and should be scrapped. Hey ho, on to the next one ![]()

Yeah I wouldn’t be so hard on your team. Chelsea just decided to show up for the second half.
As to the pen shout, we’ve had plenty like that go against us, as some of our midfield and forwards can be a bit delicate, so nice to get one going our way for a change…
Stone wall penalty. The septic 6 referee was totally out of his depth today. There are decisions like this happening every week now. Having said that, we should have been out of sight by half time. Chelsea were always going to improve, and they did…
The Mighty Whites fair scorching up the league tonight with a 4-1 win over Palace, well, from 17th. to 16th. place, at least till Monday, when the outcome the Fulham / Notts Forest game is known.
More importantly, we’ve opened up a six point gap to the relegation slots, and done our goal difference no harm at all.
“Dominic Calvert-Lewin, he scores for fun” sang the crowd, and he certainly looks to be enjoying his football at present.
Elland Road under the lights?
Just great.
M.O.T.
A remarkable result, especially given the form Palace have shown this season.
So pleased for Farke, especially as so many were forecasting that he would be unemployed by Christmas.
Given proper board backing he could possibly lay the foundations for you to become rather more permanent members of the Premiership.
A good win for you. Great set pieces and DCL definitely knocking on Tuchel’s door.
We looked and played exactly as you would expect a team to who were playing their 8th game in 23 days. Definitely missing Munoz on the right wing.
Looking forward to Arsenal at the Emirates on Tuesday for the Fizzy Cup game ![]()
Just home after another terrific lufc performance. That’s Chelsea seen off, Liverpool taken to the wire and Palace left in a spin. Farke out tacticked Glasner. Just watch Rodon, Palace had no idea where he was playing. Thought Ampadu motm (his long throw is improving by the game, much lower trajectory tonight) although DCL no doubt got the nod on telly. ER, under the lights, the best place to watch football in the EPL. Long way to go. Certainly not getting carried away but at least we’re competitive. Really tough fixtures over Christmas so I’ll enjoy this one while I can. We really do need to find a way to keep clean sheets.
Arsenal will be top of the league at Christmas 1-0 away to Everton is a good result. I won’t say our attack is misfiring because again the woodwork stopped the game from being 3-4 nil but Gyokeres looks lost and we need a fully fit Gabby Jesus and Kai Havertz back to take the pressure off of him.
The defence is our saving grace of course and Piero Hincapie has been brilliant the loss of Gabriel for so far two months could have been much worse, he is supposed to be back for Villa at home on the 30th but again a fully fit Kai Havertz back for the second half of the season will be great news.
You’ve got to love our lot….

Hmm, if Isak has just had surgery on a broken leg, how come he was allowed to walk off the field (no stretcher) at Spurs at the weekend ???
His injury is a great shame…![]()
Pretty mundane evening at SW6 last night. Neither team offered any shining play to be honest. Soft penalty converted by our very fatigued striker Raul. Kevin needs to wake up in the New Year and show he was worth 35 m.
BUT… 3 is 3 and helps us up the table a bit more.. which is always welcome.
Merry Xmas all.
Your magnanimity is a great credit to you.
Others would have been less charitable

Lightweight.
I once played in defence for the whole second half of a 6 a side match in a North London tournament with a broken leg.
And drove my heavy clutch Alfa home to Staines afterwards.
Mind, I did then get 6 weeks off, sitting with my leg up in a tubigrip watching lots of cricket.
Naughty!!
Arguably though, Jamie, you are probably not valued at 90 million quid…… ![]()
Well, not after breaking my leg, no…
