His number of goals only surpassed by…….

……his number of dives.

As I recall, the game was in Paris, Robbie Keane had scored and we were well in it until Monsieur Henry blatantly kept the ball in play with his hand and popped it across the goal for his buddy to score what turned out to be the winner.

He will never be forgiven for this and reputation tarnished forever in Irish eyes.

“The Hand of Frog” was one of the headlines iirc.

Quite right too.

Sadly, the BBC Gooner luvvies have conspired to award him (who exactly agreed this ?) a Lifetime Cheating, err I mean Lifetime Achievement Award.

A great role model for today’s youth - well, maybe the Gooner’s Youth Academy…

They of course love him. Him and Pires

Does that mean we can now refer to Arsenal as being Cheats FC?

Can anyone enlighten me ?

I have heard of a game at Fratton Park in the early noughties, where he scored a couple in an easy Arsenal win. He was subbed late in the game and received a standing ovation from all corners of the ground. Everyone knew they had seen something.

That’s right @Christopher_M. He also reemerged at the end of the game wearing a Pompey shirt and walked around acknowledging the applause that the crowd had given him during the game. He’ll always be highly thought of by Pompey fans for that.

Ah, that I had not heard. Great stuff!

Real football fans will always acknowledge greatness even in an opposing or rival player when Ryan Giggs scored that wonder goal to knock us out of FA Cup you just had to hold your hands up.

The same with Harry Kane as much as he caused me misery and even after all of the banter is long gone you have admire has greatness as a goal scorer.

Hilarious.

All your lot were saying was that he was a one season wonder  and constantly pulled him down. Even now, there’s comments like ‘he’s not so good, slow, spends too much time in midfield, most of his goals are penalties’ etc. And the desperate calls for him to be replaced by Watkins, Wilson, Delap, Santa ……..

Oh, in addition, I don’t remember Harry or Ryan Giggs deliberately handling the ball into the net.

Real football fans know, Thierry Henry was a very good player, but was also a cheat.

Lack of squad depth, playing in Europe as well as Prem, Carabao and FA cup (currently in the middle of 5 matches in 15 days) definitely taking its toll on Palace. Munoz and Kamada out for a while with proper knack.

We are playing KuPS in Conference League tonight and we are starting an 18yr old, a 17 yr old and a 16 yr old with another 17 yr old on the bench. I’m putting on my waterproofs to go and give them some support. We’re playing Leeds in 48 hours so Glasner using two completely different starting XI’s

Joel Drakes-Thomas (16) and Benji Casey (17) are definitely ones to watch

Squad values
  1. Crystal Palace £374 million

  2. Leeds United £257 million

In reality you couldn’t wish for an easier weekend other than Sunderland or Burnley. Glasner will be purring at the prospect of an easy fixture against relegation favourites rather than title chasers. Given you win more away from Selhurst Park than you do at home, that we’ve scored as many goals as you but conceded twice as many we look like the ideal fixture for Palace. Glasner will expect to win although he’ll pretend we’re a good team etc etc etc. Palace no longer plucky outsiders.

Don’t disagree but main point is we’re playing 2 matches in less than 48rs and then away to Arsenal on Tuesday. Hard for any team

We were robbed of glory several times in the Revie years due to (deliberately) unfavourable fixture schedules. That was in the day of tiny squads, single subs and a fag at half time

Palace being a victim of their recent successes. In January, Newcastle are due to play 9 games, 6 of which are at home. The squad is simply not big/good enough, and I’m not sure my liver can take all that Guinness…:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::black_heart::white_heart:
