Premier League Football 25/26

Arsenal having their usual late Winter blip we gifted United their first goal and let them into the game. Goals and a lack of fire power up front cost us last season and it is costing us again this season we do though have a run of kinder fixtures between now and the Etihad.

The Arsenal haters have all suddenly woken up 6 months and not a peep Man U supporters who have laid dormant for 18 months have risen like the living dead.

I heard two so called pundits yesterday Lee Hendry and someone who I can’t remember say that unless Arsenal win a treble minimum this season they’ve failed.

When we’re 7 -8 points ahead and winning it is because standards have fallen and the league is rubbish we drop points and Man City are the sharks again and are coming for us.

Having given the Mancs a goal Gooners, seen it many times with lufc, appeared to forget about defending (game management) when chasing the win. Left too much space & the Mancs capitalised - they are unlikely to score 2 worldies in one game again this season. Guile was required against the Manc defence. The subs didn’t offer that. Saka is an exceptional player - Rice too but more was required. Set pieces can only take you so far. Easy away game next up for the Gooners. It’s time Gooners won the league tbf. 95 points still possible.

From one wit on Spurs Community (sorry for stealing it) ……

“The only way we’re picking up points in February is if the Team Bus is done for speeding.”

To be fair it is about time they won the Prem…they have spent enough money, have a great squad of players rather than a good starting 11 and the ‘excitables*’ have made plenty of noise about how great they are.

That’s the problem, David.

If they were a little bit humble and less arrogant, obnoxious and entitled, they’d get a little more respect from some.

……A little.

Game of 2 halves. Little more needs to be said beyond decent point for lufc against a team dreaming (apparently) of a European place. Would have taken a point before K.O. A point a game get’s us to 40 points. Palace and Spurs in sight but the toughest of tests next up.

Football?

Issa game of two halves John, innit.

The Mighty Whites were completely in charge for the first half of the game, yet were reduced to some panic defending by Everington in the second half, and can count themselves fortunate to come away with the draw.

Still, six points clear of The Twilight Zone, so no complaints here.

Raheem Sterling finally leaving Chelsea and his £325K pw contract by mutual consent.

Chelsea missed a trick there. I would have not played for them either for just half that.

And his pay off ……. ?

Why are football wages still discussed in a per week unit of measure? Maybe start listing their height in cubits while we’re at it.

I would imagine ‘sufficient’…

Because £17 Million p.a. seems unimaginably ridiculous???

Not really if you look at what athletes in other sports earn. Rory made $39m (according to Forbes) just on the course in 2025.

My point is, get with the times. Call it / measure it for what it is. But definitely not directed at you, Jamie - it’s for football.

And don’t mean to hijack, so back to our regularly scheduled program. Good luck w Napoli tonight. Like what Liam’s doing so far.
