Premier League Football 25/26

Careful. You’ve been there before…

Funny how Chelsea supporters only ever want to look at post Abramovich history.

Well we’re not living on past glories. Another interesting fact…Arsenal won 8 of their 13 league titles before I was born so we’ve both won 5 since then. We’ve also got the odd European trophy to throw into the mix.

What 2000-2025???

I never get this “Oh we were great in 1931 which makes us considerably more valid than you’ nonsense.

Are you going to bring up the war next? Crimea? Boer?

Love a discussion about who bought more trophies

Jamie you’re not a teenager and we are not on X my problem as you well know is about how you won those 21 trophies now if you want a grown up discussion about financially running a club in the correct way and seeing as the Leeds boys have piped up we can use Peter Risdale as a great example as to why FFP rules are important.

Like Arsenal? The ‘Bank of England Club’ in the 1930’s? Again this is a century old (at least) lazy and silly argument raised ad infinitum. It’s just plain daft.

So you want to talk about History now?

No, I really can’t be arsed.

Good let’s leave it then.

The last true champions to give us our rightful title  ‘Piped up’ or ‘stay in your lane’ lufc boys.

The only trophies that matter are European ones. @TheKevster agrees with me.

This domestic nonsense is boring…

Enjoyed my first visit to Old Trafford since Michael Carrick took over. The football was so different to the ‘structures’ deployed by Ten Haag and Amorim. Occasional matches were great under both of them but there is a real sense of fun and possibility at Old Trafford now - welcome back!

Spurs were one of the few Premiership teams I hadn’t seen but I was really surprised by their fans who were at the same end. I couldn’t hear all their chants clearly but they were singing something during the Munich tribute (poor) and later chanted what I gather Spurs describe as “the Y word”. I don’t pretend to understand this issue properly but have just read the club’s consultation about this issue. On the one hand, well done for travelling to watch your 10 men get beaten. On the other, listen to the views of your own supporters who also find this offensive. The poverty chanting some of our fans indulge in at Liverpool’s expense is unacceptable - so is this from some Spurs fans.

A result which just about keeps the title alive. Probably hangs on Mancs v Gooners at The Etihad.

We have the tougher run up to the match at the Etihad with away matches at Brentford, Spurs, Chelsea and Bournemouth but we do have those 6 points more and we won’t go at any team like headless chickens least of all against City at the Etihad. Slot and Liverpool showed immaturity today and it cost them dearly 4 points off, of 5th.

When we beat City on the 28th you’ll be home and hosed

4 points from Chelsea this season. Happy with that.

Taxi for Frank?

There are some clubs where the problem lies above the manager.

Scapegoats will always be provided
