I’ve had a MusoQb for several years and have just had to set it up from scratch again using the app for the 3rd time in 4 days. It keeps disappearing from my list of devices (I have a Nova and Muso as well). My wifi is working perfectly and I’m having no issues with any other devices. The usual fix of switching off at the wall and switching on again isn’t working. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Does anyone have any suggested fixes? (And for the record, Naim has stopped streaming BBC stations yet again…)
I’m not sure if you have done a recent FirmWare update on your device, but many people are suffering a myriad of issues with the new version.
It may be that you are having problems based around that update.
Might be worth a conversation with your dealer if you have one to identify if that is the likely cause or whether there is some other cause that he could possibly help you with.
We understand that Naim are working towards a revised version of the FirmWare to combat the issues that have occurred since the last one🤷🏻♂️
Offspring’s has gone to Sheffield with him; has had the firmware update and is working fine.
The new firmware at some point in the future will add Naim iradio service which has replaced vtuner. At the moment you are dependent on vtuner.
Hi Elwyn, it would be a good idea to clarify whether you have a first or second generation Muso QB. The latter have had the recent firmware update, but the former haven’t as yet. This means the older QB still uses vTuner which is a mess, quite frankly. I think an update for the QB1 which will include Naim’s excellent new in-house radio streaming service may well be issued at some point, but I don’t think any confirmed date has been issued at this point.
As for your QB disappearing from the network, the QB1 has a reputation for iffy WiFi, though mine has been rock solid for years. (I’ll probably regret posting that!) I assume you have been through the usual routine of switch everything off, then start the router and wait until it fully initialises then start the QB? If so you could try resetting it which involves using a straightened paper clip to press in the reset button round the back.
Roger
Hi Roger and thanks. It’s a QB1 - had it for years too, and, yes, it drops off the system from time to time but never this often. Switching everything off doesn’t work and I’ve had to do a full set-up (paper clip and all) each time. Cheers.
Thanks for the advice, QuickSticks. Firmware seems to be up to date. Sadly, no dealer any more as I’ve had this QB1 for years. Cheers.
A short dropout or actually disconnect of all your clients can have the qb behave in this way. I changed provider and had many problems other devices alsecond generation streameres did not go into this coma state but the qb does sometimes. Often connecting an idevice using usb will eventually wake it back up so I have never gone through hard reset to solve this problem.
