Will the Qed xt400 be better than the kudos ks-1 for supernait3 and Sigma acoustics Ouverture with AMT tweeter? Thanks for a more neutral, transparent, balanced sound and a large soundstage?
Because the Kudos KS1 sounds correct to me, but a bit staid, especially compared to the Linn K20. And it doesn’t seem to have the largest soundstage. To get something with more transparency, airiness, and openness? Without sacrificing too much harmonic body, what cables should I go for?
I moved to KS-1 and obtained all the traits looked for.
Also on an SN-3. ![]()
Doubt it, maybe you have the wrong amp if your priority is large soundstage.
Do you want it all the time ? or only when its on the recording ?
Doesn’t the Supernait3 with Hi-Cap have a wide soundstage? Maybe I should replace the interconnects with something else? I currently use original Naim Lavender Din Din cables.
Good morning, it’s not that the soundstage is limited and I would like something more, but perhaps the price of the Maqari cables should be increased, a Nordost Blue Hevean RCA? Or something similar.
Maybe look for a second-hand Naim Hi-Line? Too bad the connectors are weak.
id look at TQ offerings from Black upwards
Do telluriums have a neutral sound?
To be honest most cables offer some sort of colour but I find Tq easy to listen to with big sound stage and a full bass, rich mids and maybe a bit recessed at the extreme treble unless you go with Tq silver .
I’m not sure changing cables will provide those qualities. Maybe it’s simply that you have the wrong speakers.
Often improvements in source is paying benefit.
Setup detail play a bigger role than many think.
Better mains could help.
I don’t buy into expensive cables is a must, on the contrary, some of the worst cables I’ve tried were expensive Nordost (unlistenable screewed) and Chord Signature (analytically bright). Often its emperors new cloth with an extra profit packed in.
I found my preferred within acceptable price is Kudos KS1. I do have some others lying around fx Linn, Mogami, QED and a few others, all nice reasonable cables.
QED 400 is not expensive, you could try it and two-three different brands in this price range, buy them s/h and resell what became surplus.
To get a believable soundstage, and I mean wide and 3D, you get that from source (first) then amp & speakers, you get very liittle from tweaking wires.
Indeed. And why QED?
Maybe ….. but my current cables (which I can’t name but are equivalent to Tq ultra black) gave a much more holographic sound stage than previous cables.
So agree with this, I have read many comments on this forum along the lines of: I am not happy with the sound, I should change the cabling. It’s far more likely that the setting up is wrong, or room effects. Any high end product, including those from Naim, should sound very good with their own standard interconnects. Speaker cables are much more of a variable, agreed.
Yes, I think so too. I’ll try to move and better arrange the low bookcase I have in a corner behind the speakers.
