Qobuz Connect on NC

Same destination IP address, no more than two different port numbers……:person_shrugging:?

Not sure what you’re getting at here?

How Qobuz might count the number of devices in use at a given time by a given user……. maybe?

As far as I’m aware Qobuz doesn’t limit the number of devices as long as it is only one stream at a time.

That said, one of the tests Naim support asked me to do was start a Qobuz stream on the 222, close the Naim app and leave the stream running, then switch to the Qobuz app and see if it was aware of another stream going on. At this point the Qobuz app wasn’t aware of anything going on and I was able to start a different stream to my phone so two running at the same time. This strikes me as odd, it is as if Qobuz just isn’t aware of the stream running on the 222.

Yes, that’s correct. On a solo plan there’s no device limit but only one active stream.

It may well not be relevant here, but I did have difficulty getting Tidal Connect to work with my (non Naim) streamer. I discovered that by using Airplay, then trying Connect, that it worked immediately and has done ever since. It seems using Airplay showed the network card the way forward!

Well after several days of emails to and from Naim support, nothing they have suggested has worked so they asked me to take it to my dealer. It exhibited the same behaviour there so it is going back to Naim service to see if they can figure out what the problem is.

While it is away the dealer has loaned me a Bluesound Node Icon as it has balanced XLR outputs for the NAP 250. Initial impression, where has the bass and depth of sound gone?! Hardly surprising though as the 222 is about 6 times the cost of the Icon. What has surprised me is that the Icon has no support for UPnP/DLNA so it doesn’t know what Asset is meaning the only way of playing locally stored music on a NAS is to set up a SMB network share, how very 1990’s. That also means Bubblesoft server has no idea about the Icon so no BubbleUPnP for streaming.

You’re right

Also had a powernode in the study. They still have this soft touch plastic housing.

Started to stick after a few years:zany_face:

I then sold all Bluesound devices and completely switched to Naim

In the Bluesound app, there’s an audio settings option for the player. One of the options is called Subwoofer and it was turned on by default. I switched it off and got a lot of bass and depth back. Still not up to 222 quality but much better.

A couple of things:

  1. Are you a beta firmware member?

  2. I see you have an S24.

  3. Sometimes the beta firmware does weird things that look like a hardware fault. My NDX2 went to my/our dealer. The same fault occurred there, so it went off to Naim twice. Each time, they loaded the release firmware, and the issue cleared itself (plus they changed pretty much everything inside twice). Of course, once I loaded the beta firmware, the issue reappeared. Naim support now checks the firmware version on arrival, apparently.

  4. My S23 requires me to log out/back into Qobuz every 12 hours or so. I’m pretty sure it’s a Samsung battery-saving issue, but it’s stupidly annoying. So, pretty much every time I wish to use Qobuz, this is what I’m forced to do. It also means that Qobuz Connect is sometimes “slow” to find all my connected devices.

I’m not a beta firmware member so I don’t think any of the beta weirdness is applicable here. As I said, it has gone off to Naim so hopefully they will sort it out.

As for Qobuz, I don’t have to log in regularly so do check your battery saving options. Qobuz Connect finds devices quickly for me every time both on my phone and Qobuz desktop app on Windows.
