Question about missing radio metadata on Naim Uniti Atom

Hello everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help me understand an issue I’m seeing with my Naim Uniti Atom.

When I play music from my local server via UPnP or when I stream directly from services supported by the Atom, the metadata (artist, title, album) appears correctly on the device display.

However, when I play internet radio, the situation is different:

  • In the Naim app, I do see the correct metadata for many stations (for example Radio Caroline or Radio Paradise).
  • On the Uniti Atom display itself, I only see the station name, not the artist or track title.
  • This happens even when I play the station directly on the Atom, not through LMS or any external system.
  • I have also tested Naim’s own stations (e.g., Naim Radio Jazz, Naim Radio 24/7), but the Atom still does not show any track metadata on the device display.

So my question is:

Is this expected behaviour for the Uniti Atom?
Does the Atom no longer display radio metadata on the device itself, even when the Naim app shows it?
Or is there a setting, firmware issue, or stream type I should check?

I would appreciate any clarification from Naim or other users who have tested this on their Uniti Atom.

Hi,

Extended radio metadata is s feature that is slowly expanding. History:

  • The products first shipped with VTuner and the only metadata was the text that is in the broadcast icecast/shoutcast stream.
  • When the new radio service was introduced in Oct 24 we added XPeri Autostage that for some stations will show either track/album/artist metadata arrwork. This currently only shows on the apps.

This feature is expanding over 2026. I can’t comment on details of unreleased features but overall it should fill in some of the points that you have raised… and more.

Seems that a small update is been done?

The Naim stills have only a image of the station,but the application has de Artist and number

Hi,

There is constant changes ongoing by XPeri and Naim on connecting up extended metadata feeds to the stations. Most stations don’t deliver it as part of their broadcast.

In the station above XPeri improved that one, but at Naim we had already did the binding so it went live automatically.
