Quoting on an iphone

I am finding that if I try and quote a previous post when accessing the forum using Safari on an iPhone XS, it doesn’t work properly. And I’ve noticed some other people seem to have the same issue. You end up with the text quoted by instead of appearing in a greyed box, it says something like quote:-“…

Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue?

To me this has happened when I have accidentally deleted the code [/quote] at the end of quoted text.
