Radio GaGa

Imagine you’re the new hot DJ starting your new lunchtime show (yes! You!) - you’ve finally made the big time groove😁

What would be the very first tune you spin to get your show underway.?

Your show is being broadcast to that metropolitan audience at 1pm :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Only one choice per user, unless you are exceptional😁

Just has to be

Very strong sense you have time on your hands

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer

Never a truer word said (in jest I trust) - but 'Always Look on the Bright Side - could be my alternative starter tune, I guess :bright_button::grin:
Or I could while away the time taking pics of round black plasticky things

Rush: Freewill
(…because it’s one of their few Radio friendly songs and it’s an expression of that moment)

You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom fears
And kindness that can kill
I will choose a path that’s clear
I will choose free will.

Not actually in jest as such but just light-hearted having noted the number of topics you’ve started recently.

Won’t stop me joining in

No Holding Back by Graham Parker and The Rumour.

Without sayinganything I’d open with Suppé’s Light cavalry overture, a superb piece that really prepares the listener for something big to come. Then, still without a word, a really fast, heavy rock track before moving to a calmer prog track. Something like Gillan’s Secret of the dance from the Mr Universe album comes to mind for that first rock number. (And if a live venue rather than just radio, then thunderflashes in the millisecond between the overture and start of the rock track.)

Queen’s Radio GaGA of course would be the closing track.

Well, I’m hoping this one doesn’t get unceremoniously zapped as the last one. This one can’t go wrong, surely, or offend anyone out there…

We are queuing up to take offence at the earliest opportunity

You are going to need to bring them back with a nailed-on banger after the lunchtime news:

Seal - Killer

Not exactly on the money at twenty years old though

Fixed. That’s better. Cut & paste failure - we’re all fallible (oh except Il Papa) :latin_cross:

I was thinking metro in a more geographical sense (excluding Bournemouth & environs)

Again, as the big E, here’s the starter for car enthusiasts.

And for all you imbibers

E here. Where to meet up for your lunchtime listen?

For all those just feelin’ a little bit down …
