Did you exclude the Focal-Naim app via an exception when using split tunneling? This configuration wasn’t necessary in the Google VPN settings (I only added Roon there because the Roon Core wasn’t recognized otherwise), but it’s a must with NordVPN. This is easy to demonstrate: Without an exception for split tunneling, no avatars are displayed; with an exception, the avatars are visible again.
Just removing and reinstalling the VPN app has done the trick for me. Thanks again.

Can’t quite believe this. Woke up the Muso2 and 2 of the 5 priests were gone. Had to put them back manually. Who knows?

In the absence of any real technical insight it was the best i could offer.
If it’s any use though, my accidental fix of removing then reinstalling the VPN seems to be holding for now.
