There is a shrub in my garden (1) which produces flowers which when dried look very similar to trees (3) then I add some foliage and they look like this (2) this is one of my first attempts so with time it may get better

So this is a basic drawing of my layout the red square lifts out so I can open the door. It’s going to run on analog but each piece of track has a drop wire in case I switch to Digital, there’s 2 run offs for trains to switch. There’s also going to be a second lower level not shown that will be end to end industrial based and an upper town scene level will keep posting as it develops

Give it a go mate it keeps your mind occupied and hopefully there’s a end product but it doesn’t matter if there isn’t and you can play music at the same time

I was watching a RIck Beato interview with Todd Rundgren on YT (which BTW, is excellent - check it out) and he had a Columbia Gorge Model Railroad t-shirt on. Led me to investigate and found their site.

I have started making my own ground cover using (1) cut pieces of sponge which are mixed with water then blended with (4) a blender then I added coloured emulsion and blended finer then left to dry I also use fine sawdust which is sieved with a fine sieve then coloured and dried it’s pretty cheap to make and looks OK
