Anyone on the forum had experienes with re-capping this ‘step inn’ system according to SQ, replaced parts etc?
The re-cap that my local distributor carries out are mainly tantalum caps.
Are there diverent scopes posible with re-caps in the UK besides HQ Salisburry?
Darran at Class A will do the same service as the factory. The bits he uses are supplied by Naim.
Not sure the OP is in the UK?
I’m certain he isn’t, but the question was where in the uk can you get something serviced. In which case the official answer is Class A in Sheffield. And Darran follows the same “recipe” as the factory, using the same “ingredients”.
I had an olive xps serviced by Class A. I was offered the option to go for a partial service, which involved only changing the tants.
Many years ago I asked Naim service department if it was better to service an olive pre or power amp first. I was told pre amp if the purpose was to improve sound quality, suggesting it would bring the sparkle back. (The pre amp only contains tants and small electrolytic caps).
Everybody thanks for the replies. The recap will be provided by the local distributor. (Latham).
