Rega mercury/solis

It is long time I keep seeing images of the combo but as of now it seems that none auditioned them. I felt in love of the Osiris (of not as much as I love my naim) an d I m curious to have impressions about the new combo even if the announced price will be way higher than the Osiris

They’re not ready yet, I think Ashton said they go into pre production in a month or 2. Not sure rrp has been decided.
The units were on a table and switched on but not connected to anything.

Not ready for a demo?
What did they say about Osiris?

6 months maybe? I’m guessing.

Wow, they declared q1 2025.
I m curious to see if they will abandon the cd

Writing’s on the wall for the Isis/Osiris pairing, stunning system but really getting on now in terms of DAC, resolution, streaming, etc.

I’ve heard the Solis / Mercury pairing a couple of times now. At one show, the dem was compromised due to the room / speaker pairing, where there was an overwhelming bass bloom. The speakers supplied by the shop (Acoustica). The second dem was a Rega launch event evening and there they were paired with the Naia / Aura. Wow.

From the limited time hearing them I think they are going to be very good indeed for Rega. They have that characteristic (slightly warmer than neutral) Rega valve like sound, which has the capacity to be both detailed, rich and full sounding, but also have that solid state power, grip and drive in reserve for when its needed. Plus, that elusive trick of still sounding engaging at low volumes too, where some solid state amps need a little volume to get going.

According to a recent Audio-T interview at the Bristol show, Roy Gandy outlined that the amps have been ready for a while, but there were teething issues with the digital side of things that delayed them being launched

I would buy them in a heartbeat, but at approximate 12-13K GBP new, they are way too rich for me!
