Rega P6

Afternoon everyone
Following my previous chat, I have been moving the speakers around and changed to chord rumour x which has made quite a difference to the sound.
I have another question if you can indulge me, I have a Rega P6 which I have connected to the Naim unit I nova via the Rega pre amp, the only issue I have is the volume output does seem to be quite low.
Would it be better to use a separate amp for the Rega
Thanking you all in advance

A Rega P6 turntable, a decent MM cartridge like the one it came with (if not knackered), a Rega Fono phono stage and a Nova should be a jolly good combination - that is what my girlfriend uses, so I know the sound pretty well.

Volume should be similar what you get from streaming. If it isn’t, you may well need to check a few things.

Which cartridge have you got on the P6?

Rega fono, rega aria? It is set correctly to match the cartridge?

Please specify the Rega phono stage, I’ve used both the Fono MC and Aria MK3 with very good results

Correct, also both the Fono MC and the Aria have a gain setting for MC cartridges.

Please say which cartridge and phono stage you are using.

For another data point, I have a Rega Exact into a Rega Fono MM into my Nova and I find the difference in volume compared to streaming to be around 5 clicks of the dial.

I used to have a Rega RP6/Exact with a Schiit Mani phono. The standard MM 42db gain on the Mani produce a lower volume level compared to the CD input. When I change it to 48db gain, I find the volume to be closer to the CD sound level and it is what I preferred.
