All I can say, is I have lived with both systems.I can only report what I hear. I have no doubt you will here it differently to me. Hence why Hi-Fi can be so subjective. I would never try to impose my personal findings on someone else. :blush:

The NovaNAC would have no power amp, there would be matching NovaNAP and maybe a NovaPower, so basically a 272 replacement that looks like the Nova and has the improved headphone stage.

I donā€™t know why anyone would go with a Atom HE to replace a 272 unless convenience is the only goal. The legacy streamers require some work arounds for native lossless streaming but once in place they work without a hitch for the most part.

It would certainly draw the ā€˜toe in the waterā€™ MuSo and Uniti owners towards separates, which we know is part of Naimā€™s DNA. It would also see the end of the 202 and 200, possibly the ND5X2. I am also guessing the Nova range would not need to be positioned in a rack, appealing to the lifestylers.

Because it is uncertain whether 272 will get a successor and to gain access to the new streaming platform with its better sound performance in a simple and affordable way perhaps?:man_shrugging:

Iā€™m 100% certain that the 272 will have a successor. Itā€™s not a question of if, but when.

Like HH says, itā€™s not uncertain. But if you donā€™t want to wait thatā€™s understandable. Though I donā€™t see the Atom being a suitable replacement if SQ is a priority. And for the record, Iā€™m streaming lossless radio stations and Qobuz lossless so itā€™s possible to get the better quality streams on legacy streamers though it requires a work around.
