Sad to see the wonderful soprano Felicity Lott has passed away. She had a wide range but she had a particular love for the French repertoire and was awarded an honorary degree at the Sorbonne. I have her version of Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine an opera for a single voice and it’s very moving. A very worthy career.

Her recordings of Richard Strauss Four Last Songs with Neeme Jarvi are outstanding. I have them on vinyl.
