Yes, very sad. Miles, De Johnette, Shorter, …. but still playing Herbie Hancock, Corea, McLaughlin, Billy Cobham.
De Johnette was full of dexterity and finesse in the same time. Not like Cobham, but i like both.

Sadly, Chick Corea passed away some years ago.
I don’t think John McLaughlin tours much now but Cobham and Hancock are still musically very active.
I see them on YouTube regularly.
Very sad RIP.
Yes, and he also had the ability to focus on how to drum in a way that made the whole piece of music better that he was working on (not just to push forward the drums for the sake of it).
A gentle giant who could let rip when the moment was right.
Also Gary Peacock died a year or two ago, who was such a close friend of Jack.
What is amazing to me is that we will always have their live music.![]()
Over the decades he just turned up on so many different setting. A true legend. RIP.
Got to see Jack on the Hudson tour. Phenomenal show! They were grooving! He is one of the greatest of the greats. Sad to hear he has passed.
Spot anyone here that you recognise? ![]()
Just 5 guys jamming.
At the Sistine theatre in Rome in 1969.
(one of them is still with us today)
This is very sad news for me. A real jazz legend checks out of the hotel. He gave so much pleasure in his lifetime. RIP
Gary Peacock too? Another shock.
