Here’s a link to the story…

RIP Mani, he also played with Primal Scream for 15 years.

Just read that, no age is it. Terribly sad after his wife as well.

Well, some things for tomorrow’s playlist then.

I was at the RHS Tatton Park flower show many years ago, looking at one of the outside gardens. Someone came and stood next to me. Hard to describe, but they were dressed very differently. Casual dark blue jacket, great shirt and ‘distinctive’ jeans. Pretty unusual for a flower show. I looked at him and knew him from somewhere. 15mins later*, it clicked that he was Mani.

*It was 25 years after they were at the top.

That’s a shock. You can see on the videos on YouTube how much he enjoyed playing with the Roses. RIP Mani.

Very sad news, and no age at all.

Will always be remembered as being central to the Stone Roses sound, the glue which held them together.

Thanks for all the choons R kid.

I bumped into him once at Old Trafford. He was also a very passionate Manchester United fan.

Very sad news and far too young too.

He was an incredibly gifted bass player and as others have said contributed greatly to the incredible groove of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream.

In honour of him yesterday I ordered the Stone Roses vinyl double album of their 12” mixes and it arrived today. It’s superb!!
