Legendary producer - Chicken Shack, Bluesbreakers - has sadly passed. But not only was he a key mover in the 60s UK blues movement he produced much other stuff including a very young David Bowie’s first record, and Moving Waves by Focus.

Great band Chicken Shack, he also produced a raft of British blues bands including, Savoy Brown, John Mayall and early Ten Years After R.I.P.

Brilliant production and in interviews always came across as a really nice bloke.
Oh yes and he produced the debut album for Level 42.

There’s an obituary in the Guardian. Nice to see him recognised but needs fuller detail. I would have loved to have been able to afford to buy more of those Decca and Blue Horizon blues records that he produced as they were released.
