RIP Paul Lowe

This may not resonate with many here on the forum, but I used to know Paul well – haven’t had contact for some time, but years back I oversaw the printing of his Sarajevo book in Beirut as well as doing some other general pre-press work for him. He also invited me back to the LCP a few times to teach Photoshop to the students at the time.

Tragic.

He was one of the lecturers when my son took his Masters Degree in Photo Journalism. Shocking news, apparently stabbed by his son.

At the LCP (London College of Printing when I did post grad Photojournalism, now the London College of Communication) or elsewhere…?

Paul took over the course from Patrick Sutherland (who was head when I attended) and got me in to do a few short things…
But more than that, when I was an aspiring photojournalist myself and he was at Magnum etc he was an inspiration….To become a friend in later years and also work for him was an honour. Really nice guy.

I’m gutted to be honest and a tragic waste.
Sadly, he joins some others from the scene I knew and lived within in London that are no longer here, including close friends Tom Stoddart and PJG, who I miss dearly….
