One of the very best voices in contemporary music and one hell of an entertainer. You will be sorely missed.

I only saw him perform once, when The Mavericks were riding high with their album Tightrope. A small gig at Warwick University.
Raul was one of the best live singers I’ve ever heard. Truly remarkable and will be missed sadly missed.

I should add, it was one the most memorable gigs I’ve ever seen, in part as my expectations were low, and I left shaking my head in disbelief at just how SUPERB they were, Raul Malo in particular.
A true entertainer who could REALLY sing. Astonishingly good.

I was fortunate to see The Mavericks twice. Once as a free concert on the Plaza with Joe Ely and Joel Guzman opening for them. We got there early and were right in front of the stage. The second time was at the Santa Fe Opera House. In addition to Raul’s incredible voice, the band was fantastic!
