They certainly did!
Nice watch! Very elegant.
Very nice with a retro style you should be pleased.
Here is a bit of Trivia to keep it light this from ETA movement the Ss entail guide.
“ Have Rolex ever use ETA movements.”
We’ll tell you a secret: even His Majesty Rolex has used an ETA-made caliber in its history. It was a reworked version of the Valjoux 72 chronograph caliber, which it used for several years in the Daytonas.
One does you know Tik Tok.
I bought a Datejust 36 from a local jewellers in 2016. It came with boxes and papers and I paid £2500. Today it would cost £5500 I guess. For me my first luxury watch had to be a Rolex, and I doubt another brand would have appreciated in value quite like a Rolex.
I’ve since added an IWC Pilot’s Chronograph and an Omega Seamaster, all pre owned.
My favourite is the IWC, but I’d still have bought the Rolex first.
I don’t understand why so many people post comments about Tudor,Seiko,ETA etc.I don’t think the OP is asking a question about buying a Rolex for nothing. If he want’s to buy a Toyota he is not going to collect information about Lexus.
I have the sarb035 (white face) and it’s a great dress or everyday watch
On a pub crawl…yes, Rolex not recommended. I’m trying to get my hands on a Moonswatch for that purpose.
Here’s another one to think about, especially if you want more of a ‘going out watch’ but one that’s not too dressy for day to day. I’ve a had a few Rolexes, but sometimes they can be a bit obvious. I once had a Milgauss, wore it to the bike shop, got the ‘nice Rolex’ line from the lad on the checkout and ended up nattering about it. Quite honestly I can do without that.
It has the lovely classic Pellaton movement too, with ceramic parts. I’ve cropped the picture so the serial number isn’t visible.
It’s a forum, not an exam question, so people are perfectly free to suggest alternatives. The OP seems perfectly happy with the non Rolex ideas, which is what actually matters.
It was a very straightforward question from the OP “ good guy “
I simply replied that going into an AD to make his choice might be next to impossible to save him frustration or disapointment.
Another initially non contentious thread now getting tetchy.
Whilst certainly not the first diving watch to appear, the Rolex Submariner Date has become something of an icon amongst sports watches.
Once I had changed career paths to become an offshore diver, part of the rite of passage meant it became a “must have” item.
It’s style has been loosely copied by other manufacturers worldwide, and it remains a sound investment which continues to gain in value.
The first one I had was stolen from a locked car in Saudi, and it’s replacement I bought in UK in 1995, for what now seems a bargain retail price when set against current values.
Yes, there’s a waiting list for these, and some of the pre-owned prices are, frankly, bonkers.
It’s too late now. The platform chokes on too many posts, especially with pictures.
A smiley Tudor, that is very nice
Thank you it’s nice to be nice.
