Phew - loads of albums. Beefheart, Mingus, Tolliver and Scott Heron stand out for me. Plenty of barrel scraping (looking at you Doors)
Checked it out and there is nothing, surprisingly, that would get me out of bed on a Saturday morning to queue for an hour or so…..unlike the last 5 years.
I have to say, I agree. Things like the Charles Mingus and Charles Tolliver I already have. That Coltrane ‘Tiberi Tapes’ sounds interesting but it is apparently very lo-fi and this LP is reputedly only 26 mins long. Why bother? I’ll wait until a more complete edition comes out on CD.
A lie-in beckons.
Yep, not a single thing on that list I’d want.
Part two of The Doors, “Strange Days-A Work In Progress” I think, although part one was pretty short. Captain B’s deluxe “Decals” may be of interest, dependant upon what the deluxe bit is.
Maybe the XTC double live LP but not much else on first glance.
After a brief look it may be the first list in a long time that might actually get me out of bed on a Saturday morning. Obviously source and pressing are vitally important the 10" Miles Davis cut by KG looks very nice .
The only one that interests me is the Talking Heads release. Not sure its a good enough reason to get up early. But at least I would walk out with only one title this time. ![]()
