A sad time for comedy seriesâ leading ladies, with Ruth following on from the loss of Kirsty Alley (Cheers) earlier this week. Two of the very best.
Although she was a very versatile actress with a tremendous catalogue of work, I suspect sheâll always be Gladys Pugh from âHi Di Hiâ to many of us⌠âMorning Campersâ.
Rest peacefully Gladys.

Always enjoyed Hi-di-Hi, and Gladysâ catch phrases, spoken in that wonderful Welsh accent are a real treasure to recall.

I used to live two doors away from one of her co-stars in Hi de Hi, Su Pollard. Trendy Islington, donât you know.
