RIP Mr. Sakamoto.
Floored me when I heard the news for me personally the loss of another one of my musical inspirations along with Bowie at least we still have the brilliant David Sylvian with us. Only watched Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence the other night where Sakomoto and Bowie starred together. Still brings a tear when combined with Forbidden Colours with or with vocals from Sylvian. One of his best albums for me was the double Playing The Piano amazing collection of piano only pieces for replay on a Naim system. It’s worrying that music today doesn’t for me any way have these real talented innovative heroes. RIP

Sylvian may still be with us but there has been no new output for a while (retired I believe) whereas Sakamoto was still producing new material close to his sad death.
