S/H Supernait3 prices?

Er… no.

It sold extremely well and was very popular with dealers. Naim would have loved to keep production going. They gave the reason for why production had to end quite suddenly - long-running issues with the supply of crucial components have left us with no viable options to continue manufacturing the SUPERNAIT 3.. ..despite our R&D department’s efforts to find a workaround.

Some dealers might still have stock or ex demo units available so best have a ring around to see if you’re interested.

As Tom Petty famously said, the waiting is the hardest part.

When I look SH, it normally plays out that a SN1 can be had for about €1,000, SN2 for €2,000 and a SN3 most often at €3,000.

If there’s a NC Supernait coming out, what’s the chance it prices below £6k? If it’s near that, may not see the price of the SN3 go much below 3k.

There are two available “new in sealed box - full warranty” for £3,199 at the moment, on the ‘bay…..

There’s a very nice used example at a certain Suffolk Naim dealer. 3 years old at £2250.

Selection of ex-dem models with either green or white lights going for £2,799 at a certain UK chain named after multiple trees.

O yes I see what you did there … with that sneaky and smart secret code language. Shhh … they might hear us …

And then grumbled that it wasn’t as good as the 300 Series :joy::joy::joy::joy:.

Exactly, big disappointment.
But others found it above the 252. Hopefully they didn’t dare to say it puts the 552 into dust.

I feel it was a lot longer than 3 years…

There were a number of nice topics around the 272 successor back in the days.

This one comes to mind:

Yep…it was pretty damn good especially with a good psu…I recon the N Dac would be epic with a really good psu.

Good link - was nice to read about the 272, thanks!

Slightly off topic, but If I knew then what I know now (or knew then what I like now) I think I would have started off with a 272/250. I have a 172 and there’s something about the volume dial, seeing the actual volume number on screen, and the ability to control it from the app that make it a brilliant piece of kit.

At current used prices you could do worse than a 272/250. When it was first released I considered it, but found the NDX/Supernait a little better.
There was, in my view, a staggering amount of ownership bias driven talking up of the abilities of the 272 back then, but nevertheless I wouldn’t rule it out as long as you are OK with the old streaming platform, which is the same as your 172.

I’m going to ride that old streaming platform until its last breath. Tidal and Spotify for casual listening, UPnP streaming of CDs for active listening.

The only piece that’s been retired so far is the 1st gen UQ1 with the old board. And even that was totally fine until the internet radio moved in-house.

Yes, thats how it should be, easy to adjust even at nights.

That is as long as the display is not fading, my own SU lasted few years only.

Many amps just have a volume and not even a led.
Its ok in the entry level price range, but moving up its a pain, fx a Rega Aethos doesn’t even have a volume led, nice amp apart from this.

I have had the display replaced on all my streamers. Not cheap, but massive life extension.
