JB HiFi sales are great aren’t they, I also buy a lot of discs in their sales, my wife says I should have shares in JB HiFi the amount of money I spend with them.

I went to one of their sales when over on the Sunshine Coast on holiday. I got the full series of Game of Thrones on 4K disc, still to start watching them though…. so much music and movies, not enough time….

Rachmaninov – Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3, with the young Ashkenazy (Decca UCGD-7028, Japan). I like it mostly for # 3 with the LSO under Fistoulari, nice 1963 recordings by Kenneth Wilkinson.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary being released in Hi-Res on Blu-ray with 25 bonus tracks including 16 track live bootleg from 1975 concert.
My Pre-Order is in.

Yeah, I saw this as well. The bootleg is remixed by Steven Wilson, so it will be interesting to see how that comes out. I already have the latest SACD of the album, so will likely stick with that at the moment - it’s certainly a recording that shines in hi-res formats.

Cannonball Adderley - Somethin’ Else, originally released by Blue Note. The Classic Records HDAD/DVDA disc version (HDAD 2009) from 2005. I have several digital versions but this one reveals better instrumental timbre and musically ‘flows’ really nicely.

I have it as an HDAD (96/24) disc, but without DVD-A. The disc may have predated DVD-A.

I have it in Hi-Res Blu-ray which was released in 2015 it has 24/96 and 24/192 tracks on it and they sound fantastic.

Pure Audio Bluray hi-res with Dolby Atmos . Nice effects and it’s fun to listen to. The LP version is also fantastic and plays in 1/45 minute. That’s not mentioned anywhere, and I was initially surprised by the sound and voice

The SDE Shop in London announced the release of about 10 new Hi-Res Blu-ray discs in September, so I ordered 6 of them, with the first two arriving in the post today and the remainder arriving hopefully mid December after their release dates.
As is usual with these SDE releases, there are loads of bonus material/songs on the discs in addition to the original album tracks.

Is anyone here using an Apple 4K TV and a Bluray player? I’m just wondering what the best audio configuration is with the ATV - HDMI to TV and optical from TV to ND555, or ATV - HDMI to CX UHD with video pass-through to TV and audio to the 555 via the optical output - which is what I use for Bluray movies. I’m currently using the first option.
The way you use it works fine for me and more importantly, with no lip sync issues when using the TV speaker as a centre speaker. When I change the Apple TV to network stereo output it does sound slightly better through speakers but I then get lip sync issues for some reason when using the TV speakers.

It is best to keep the audio (and video) connections as short and direct as possible.
So, digital audio from TV to Streamer/DAC and also digital audio from Blu-ray Player to Streamer/DAC.
This is how I have connected both my Main and Second Systems, keeping cables and connections to a minimum for best signal quality.
The Apple 4K TV Box just has HDMI output, I think, so best to connect this straight to your TV rather than route it via your Blu-ray Player.
