Sad News From Lisa Mills

Below is a very sad message from Lisa Mills. Many of you enjoyed her music especially @NigelB amongst many others. Wishing Lisa all the best unfortunately it is progressive disease.

I’ve put this off as long as I possibly could. Somehow, I thought by not posting this news, it wouldn’t make it real—but I can’t deny what is happening to me.

At the end of July of 2025, I was back in the special hospital in Germany for another week of tests. They diagnosed me with ALS and put me on a ventilator which I wear nightly. I use a walker inside and a wheelchair when I go anywhere, which is not often. I’m down to 108 pounds last time I was weighed (difficulty swallowing makes eating a challenge) My hands, feet, and thighs are most affected. I am losing the ability to text or type, and speaking isn’t easy, at all.

On the 6th of January I flew back to the USA after having a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s with family and friends in Freiburg, Germany.

I am now living near my brothers and their families in Troy, Virginia in the Charlottesville area where I am blessed to be surrounded by LOVE.

Not good news at all - have all her albums and was wondering a week ago what had happened to her as no new albums have been released

Just lost my Mum to MND (ALS in the US)

We saw deterioration from walkers to motorised wheelchair, from stairlift to a bed downstairs with a hoist, carers coming 3 times a day, introduction of a feeding tube, ventilator machines at night, etc.

Cruel disease, as the mind remains, while the body loses its ability to function bit by bit.
